The Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society (PSHRS) is an Affiliated Program Group (APG) of the Penn State Alumni Association and the College of Health and Human Development Alumni Society. PSHRS has the distinction of being the first, thus the longest standing, academically affiliated alumni group at Penn State. Established in 1948, our longevity and our outstanding reputation as an alumni group within the university are accomplishments of which we can all be very proud. In order to keep the traditions and spirit of the society alive and well, the society needs the continued support of our alumni and friends.

PSHRS provides a means for achieving closer fellowship among alumni, faculty and students. The “good works” of the society support the students of the program in a variety of ways that include events in New York as part of the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show; the PSHRS Endowment in support of the student organizations in the school, scholarships, and many other alumni supported activities that directly involve students. Our alumni are active in the school through campus visits that include, in many instances, presenting in a variety of classes; active recruiting and hiring of graduates of the program, and participation in the college’s mentoring program.
